Bio

Anna Barbieri is a video, film, and media artist as well as an artistic researcher. She studied architecture at the Glasgow School of Art and TU Wien and completed the MA Critical Studies programme at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. Central to her theory-based artistic practice is the exploration of architectural and spatial productions, as well as their socio-political entanglements and media representation. These themes are addressed through videos, films, texts, and installations that are situated at the intersection of essay, fiction and documentary.

Anna Barbieri is part of the LoFi-electro-pink-punk artist-performance band “Die Fitten Titten.” She also works as a freelance editor and writer and has written, among others, for gallerytalk.net (2019–2020) and the Vienna Art Week Blog (2021). In 2024/2025, she participated in the Golden Pixel Cooperative Lab (GPC Lab); in 2025, she received the Start-Stipendium Medienkunst from the Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport (BMWKMS). She lives and works in Lower Austria (and Vienna).
